Lavender London Fog

London Fog is one of those drinks that gives me nothing but cozy vibes!

A cable knit sweater, a good novel or paper and a London Fog is sometimes all you need!🖤💫

The London Fog is rumored to have been invented by. pregnant woman in the 1990’s. I believe the story goes like this…she orders this at a local cafe in Vancouver, then orders the same thing at other cafes that she frequented and somehow started a trend. Other names for it are Earl Grey Latte & Vanilla Tea Misto.

Since its creation, numerous cafes and coffee houses have been known to claim London Fog as their own formulation. Who knows really! All I know is that its magnificent and I’m glad that someone came up with this brilliant simple drink!

Earl Grey Tea itself has a unique taste. it is a black tea, flavored with oil of Bergamot. The oil is produced from the cells inside of the rind of a bergamot orange. Bergamot is a very common note in perfumes.

The citrus fruit primarily grown in Southern Italy is rich in flavonoids-promoting good heart health and supporting a healthy immune system. It has been said to lower blood glucose, reduce inflammation and as mentioned before promotes heart health that helps prevent cardiovascular disease.

How I make my London Fog:

  • Earl Grey Tea

  • Splash of Vanilla Syrup

  • Steamed cream infused with lavender extract (I also frothed it)

  • Dried lavender

  • Fresh lavender

You can use any milk/cream that you like. Also, I rarely measure!

Lavender Milk

Steamed vegan blueberry lavender milk 🥛

Quite honestly I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be taste wise.

But…I have to a say that this was absolutely delicious and my recipe worked out.  I’d probably add a bit more sweetener and more lavendar extract next time.

The fresh rosemary and lavender was picked fresh from my garden. Dropping extra blueberries, the rosemary sprigs and the lavender sprigs into the steamed milk created a beautiful aroma and taste.  Definitely making this again tonight!

Ingredients:

  • Califia Farms Oat Milk

  • SkinnyGirl Blueberry Lavender drink mix

  • Oatly Oatmilk creamer

  • Lavender extract paste

  • Fresh French lavender sprigs

  • Dried French lavender

  • Fresh Rosemary sprigs

  • Fresh blueberries

  • whole earth sweetener

Make it!

Use a muddler to mash your blueberries, this will release the flavor. Heat them up on a sauté pan or in the microwave. *Do not overcook! As soon as they start bubbling they’re ready.

Heat your milk, the same way either on the stove or microwave.

Add your blueberries to your cup, then add your steamed milk and sweetener. Stir it up well to combine the deliciousness of the blueberries with the milk. Drop some ore blueberries into the hot milk t be a little extra!

in a separate bowl add your creamer, lavender extract and @skinnygirl drink mix and more sweetener if you wish. Froth this bad bitch to perfection and slowly pour it over your steamed milk. Top it off by adding some dried lavender, fresh lavender sprigs and rosemary. Sip and enjoy!
